Match Preview

| Again, this is South Korea's biggest game they have ever played in. Despite narrowly losing to Germany in the semi finals, Korea have picked themselves up to play in Deagu. It will be Hiddink's farewell match at the helm of the co-hosts and it will also be the last match in national team colours for two of the country's favourite footballing sons - skipper Hong Myung-Bo and striker Hwang Sun-Hong. However, Hiddink is expected to start Ahn Jung-Hwan ahead of veteran Hwang who is nursing an injured thigh. Choi Jin-Cheul and Kim Nam-Il are also doubtful for the match. Similaly, this is also Turkey's biggest game. They played well against Brazil in the semi's but didn't quite have enough to beat them. One expected change will see Ilhan Mansiz coming in for captain and veteran striker Hakan Sukur. The skipper has endured a woeful World Cup campaign, while his young understudy scored the golden goal that sealed their semi-final spot. Bulent Kormkaz and Ergun Penbe could also miss out. Both teams will be going for it and it is likely to be an end to end game. World Cuppers' prediction: 2-1 to Turkey. |
