Arnhem The Stadium
The Gelredome was only completed in 1998 and is home to SBV Vitesse. It has a moveable roof weighing 800 tonnes and the pitch is in a container which takes about 2 hours to move into the ground. It holds 30,000 people and is the most hi-tech sporting venue in Holland and so it should be for £43m. The idea of the stadium was Karel Aalbers, who saved Vitesse Arnhem from bankrupcy.

The Place
Arnhem is famous for the Allied airborne operation which failed in 1944. Many people come on a pilgramage to Arnhem to pay respect to the many who died. In Arnhem, the main bars are gathered around the main train station while the main restaurants are in Jansplein. The nightlife is OK in places such as Jansplein and Korenmarkt but it isn't a patch on Rotterdam or Amsterdam.

How To Get There
From the North
Get on to the E35 heading south, then the E232 and take the exit for Arnhem/Zutphen/Velp. When you come to the roundabout Velperbroek, you need to take the exit for Arnhem and Nijmegen (N325) which will lead to the centre.
From the South
from Nijmegen drive along the N325 in the direction of Arnhem. Take the left exit just before Arnhem, in the direction of Arnhem Centrum and elden on the N225
From the East
The A50 and the A15 lead to Arnhem centre.
From the West
from Germany take the E35 until the Germany/Holland border then this takes you into the centre.
