The German team is not seen as the force it once was. Despite this, they still managed
to progress to the World Cup final of 2002, where they were easily despatched by Brazil.
There is no doubting the class of Ballack, and veteran Oliver Kahn continues to show
himself as one of the greatest keepers in World football. However, with the Netherlands
and the Czechs in their group, an early exit stares them in the face.
