Jack's Come From Behind

A Martin Holden inspired Uncle Jack's snatched victory from the jaws of defeat after coming back from 3-1 down to eventually win 6-3.

Martin's razor sharp play ensured that Uncle Jack's kept up their 100% record in dominoes and darts.

George Keep Up Winning Record

George Hotel continued their 100% start to the season with a comfortable 7-2 win away at the Prince of Wales B.

John Parkinson and Steve Marquis hit maximums to book their place in the 180 knockout.

Bird Flies In !!!

No surprises that the Borough were on the wrong end of a 9-0 scoreline here, even with home advantage.

However, I seem to remember a certain person having a pop at me at this year's AGM when it was decided we'd have a knockout at the end of the season for all those players who hit a 180 during the regular season. His argument was that the specialist domino players had nothing similar to aim for (being a specialist domino player himself).

Anyway that same person, a certain Harry Bird, hit the mythical maximum in this game!!

Jack's March On

Uncle Jack's came out on top in the battle of the two unbeaten sides 7-2. Jack's have now made it four out of four but maybe the scoreline flattered them a little as some of the games were a little closer than 7-2 may suggest.

Duke Net First Win

Following three winless games the Duke of York finally chalked up their first win of the season at home against the Cricket Club 7-2.
Phil Paul weighed in with a maximum 180 for the Duke and he now joins the ever growing list of qualifiers for the end of season 180 knockout.

Dominoes Pairs Knockout Draw Made

The draw has been made for the Marwill Darwen Darts and Dominoes Knockout. As there are only 24 teams who have entered there will only be two venues used this year with twelve teams at each. The two venues chosen are Ellenshaw and Borough.

If I am to do this for your game it is important that you give me as much information on that particular game as possible when the score is rung in. Information such as maximums, ton plus checkouts, who beat who and averages are all things that I'd like to include.

It's a great compliment to the standard of this league that there have already been 7 180's and we're only in the 3rd week of the season. But we already know how good our players are, it's only confirming that.

Gavin Eldred (Marigold's) has the top checkout of 118 which he hit against the Bowling Green on 13th October and Wayne Mitchell is the early pacesetter in the top 3 dart averages with 83.49 scored against the Anchor.

Another excellent average of 71.57 was scored by Steve Bunyan in his game against Diamond Dave Hemborough.

Prince March On

Prince of Wales carried on their impressive start to the season with an 8-1 demolition of the Anchor. This follows on from their 7-2 win against Marigold's and the 9-0 defeat of Bowling Green meaning they've only lost three games all season.
Wayne Mitchell bagged his first 180 of the season as did Dave Conroy and Wayne also weighed in with an impressive 83.49 3 dart average in his game.

Gav sets the pace in high checkout

Marigold's got their second win of the season in fine style 8-1 against the Bowling Green. They seem to be back on track now after their opening day defeat against the Prince of Wales A.
Gavin Eldred also hit a 118 checkout which is the early leader in the race for the top finish.
